Give Your Skin A Detox

Our skin health and the way our skin looks is a reflection on what is going on in our lives internally and externally. Our environments, our daily activity and our diet all affect our skin health. A true skin detox has to start from the inside - drinking plenty of water and maintaining a clean, healthy diet to cleanse the body of impurities. This happens because the lower layers of our skin get their nutrients from what we put in our bodies. While a full physical detox isn’t what we’re here to talk about, it’s important to keep this in mind as a first step if you’re ready for a reset.
The other part of this understanding is makeup. Makeup can be an amazing tool to help us feel our best, and give us an extra boost for a night out or even an important day at work. But in makeup’s case, you can have too much of a good thing. Constantly overloading the skin with foundation and blush can clog the pores and allow dirt to settle in throughout the day. Not to mention those makeup brushes that may have gone a bit too long without being cleaned. A facial detox starts with laying off the makeup, whether it be for one week or even one day if that’s what your schedule allows. Choose a timeline where you can commit to going bare-faced and beautiful.
